In 1967, the Humane Society of South Coastal Georgia (HSSCG) was founded with the vision of becoming the model no-kill animal humane society and adoption center in our community. That vision remains today. Learn more about our animal shelter.

We are a local independent organization. As such, we are not affiliated with the National Humane Society or the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), nor do we receive funding from these organizations. Our adoption center is 100% donor-supported by the citizens of our local community.

In 45 years, this Georgia Humane Society has taken in, cared for, spayed and neutered, and found adoptive homes for over 12,600 animals. We are located in Brunswick and serve Sea Island, St. Simons Island, Savannah and surrounding communities.
